The School of Education and Professional Studies is a national leader in educational research and innovative teaching programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It is one of the largest teaching areas of the University with degree programs for more than 3000 undergraduate students offered in primary and secondary teacher education, adult and vocational education and training (VET), special education, middle schooling, music education, applied theatre, and technology education. The school spans three campuses and has an international reputation in teacher education and related research, with students being drawn from many different countries.
Programs in adult and vocational education are well established and offer students opportunities to specialise in the areas of Training Manager, Trainer and Assessor, Adult and Vocational Teaching, Community Education, Adult Literacy and Numeracy, Human Resource Development and VET in schools. Members of the school conduct research in key areas such as Learning and Work, Lifelong Learning, Vocational Education, transitions between school and post school learning, and sustaining older workers.
This is a continuing, full time position based at the Mt Gravatt campus, Queensland, Australia.
The appointee will be required to contribute towards the leadership of Adult and Vocational Education and convene and teach into existing undergraduate and postgraduate courses and programs, and supervise higher research degree students. As a Senior Lecturer, the appointee will make significant contributions to research and scholarship in the field of adult and vocational education.
The successful applicant will be expected to have a doctoral degree in the relevant discipline as well as teaching experience, research capacity and professional expertise in Adult and Vocational Education. The appointee will also be required to contribute to building the research and research higher degree culture within the School.
Associate Professor, Level D: AUD $117,081 - $128,988 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: AUD $136,985 - $150,916 per annum.
